A facilities Committee was set up in 2009 under the leadership of Engr Dr. S.A. Opaluwah FNSE,  Engr.  Dr.  MKO  Balogun was  also  a  member and  Engr  Dipo  Mabogaje FNSE  was Secretary from  2009 to 2011 before he moved to COREN. Later Engr Nathaniel Nwanjekwu took over as a Secretary in 2011 and served meritoriously till 2017. Apart from the Vision of Engr Isaac Ademola Olorunfemi FNSE and NSE President then was to transform the committee into an institution of professional engineers that would be saddled with infrastructural skills and due to his promise, the division was inaugurated at the Sunshine City of Akure during AGM, 2015 of NSE and Engr S. A. Opaluwah, FNSE became pioneer National Chairman of NIFEngM while new election was conducted to elect new executive across six geo-political zones to run the affairs.

        •   The committee met several times and submitted its report.

        •   NSE Approved the division during the Council meeting at the Akure AGM in 2015.

        •   The NIFEngM Division was inaugurated on November 16, 2016, with Engr Opaluwah FNSE as Pioneer National Chairman.
